Our Story

The life of the Philippine School of Scriptures (PSS) began in the month of May, year 2002 when Dr. GIL M LAURENA, Pastor of the Christian Bible Baptist Church – Christian Soldiers’ Impact,  saw the need of training young people for involvement in the ministry to cater to the spiritual needs not only of Filipinos but also foreigners. Being driven by a passion of lost souls and burdened for the country, our Pastor decided to put up at once the college.

The CBBC ministry was started in 1987 by Pastor Gil M Laurena, who is still the current Pastor. Through the conduct of relentless Soul Winning, Visitations, Bible studies from house to house the ministry started to grow. As it grew, places of gathering were moved from one place to another until it was first settled at the Bonifacio Naval Station in Makati City where it was established as a church in 1990.

The church and its ministries continued to expand, the members being taught on confrontational soul winning. Soon vehicles were purchased thus, the bus ministry was started which brought a very big blow for the church growth.

The church is blessed with an auditorium that seats up to 3,000 people. Adjacent to it stands a three-storey building that serves as the quarters and mess hall. Across from the church auditorium is another building that houses a convenience store, the PSS Lounge, a rest center for church members, and the PSS administrative office. These facilities reflect the church’s continued growth and commitment to meeting both the spiritual and practical needs of its members and students.

Pastor Gil Laurena has a God-given vision for the advancement of His work. As part of this vision, he founded the Philippine School of Scriptures (PSS)—a ministry dedicated to the biblical training of Baptist believers. Today, PSS stands as a vital institution committed to equipping men and women to understand the Word of Truth and faithfully serve in the Lord’s vineyard
